PDPC 5 Year Anniversary
On 21 May 2026, the Pandemic and Disaster Preparedness Center (PDPC) celebrated its 5 year anniversary. Researchers, staff, partners and stakeholders of the PDPC gathered in the Tuin van Verbondenheid at the Erasmus MC in Rotterdam, The Netherlands to look back at the past five years, mark the importance of preparedness, and look ahead towards PDPC’s next steps.
The event featured presentations by the PDPC board, consisting of prof. Marion Koopmans, dr. Anja Schreijer, prof. Thom Bogaard and dr. Tom Emery. Moreover, distinguished stakeholders reflected on the importance of preparedness, including prof. Ernst Kuipers, prof. Stefan Sleijfer, and Marjolijn Sonnema, Director-General of the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport.
During the event, the PDPC also launched its first Anniversary Magazine, highlighting the important research that was conducted over the past years. Highlights of the research were also featured in the PDPC Anniversary Highlight Video.
The event organisation was led by the philogirl team – specifically Sophie – in collaboration with the PDPC.
